DA Score: A Practical Guide for Bingo and Gaming Websites

StreamlineBy StreamlineOctober 10, 2026No Comments5 Mins Read

Running a bingo or gaming website involves more than choosing games and publishing updates. Readers need useful information, while search engines need clear signals about a site’s relevance and reputation. A DA score is one measure marketers may use when assessing those signals, especially while comparing websites for content partnerships or link-building opportunities. It can help frame a conversation, but it should never be treated as a complete verdict on a site.

What a DA score tells you

Domain Authority, usually shortened to DA, is a metric developed by Moz to estimate the relative likelihood that a website will rank in search results. It is generally presented on a scale from 1 to 100. The score is calculated using signals connected to a site’s backlink profile and other factors in Moz’s model.

It is important to understand what the number does not tell you. DA is not a score assigned by Google, and it is not a direct ranking factor used by the search engine. A high figure does not guarantee strong rankings, regular visitors or reliable content. For a bingo site, the practical question is not simply whether a potential partner has an impressive number, but whether its audience, subject matter and quality make sense for your readers.

Why the score can change

DA is comparative, so it can move even when you have not made a major change to your own website. Moz updates its index and calculations over time, and the sites included in the comparison may also gain or lose links. A new link from a respected, relevant website can help a backlink profile, while lost links or changes in the wider web can affect the estimate.

This is one reason to avoid reacting to every small movement. A dip does not automatically mean your site has suffered a search penalty, just as a rise does not prove that a new marketing tactic is working. Check the broader picture: whether search traffic is steady, which pages attract visitors, whether important links remain live, and whether your content meets the needs of its audience.

Use more than one measure

Different SEO platforms assess authority in different ways. Ahrefs has Domain Rating (DR), while Semrush provides an Authority Score. These are not interchangeable with Moz DA; each platform uses its own data and methodology. A website may therefore have noticeably different figures across tools without any of them necessarily being wrong.

When comparing potential sites for a guest post, partnership or other link opportunity, consider several indicators together:

  • Relevant subject matter: Does the website cover gaming, entertainment or another topic that naturally connects to your page?

  • Real readership: Is there evidence of consistent organic traffic and articles that answer readers’ questions?

  • Backlink quality: Do links appear to come from genuine, relevant sites, rather than a pattern of unrelated placements?

  • Editorial standards: Are articles accurate, readable and clearly intended for people?

  • Audience fit: Would a visitor from that site have a sensible reason to explore your content?

For example, a specialist gaming publication with a modest authority score and an engaged audience may be a more useful partner than a much larger general site with little connection to bingo. Relevance and trust are harder to reduce to a single number, but they matter when judging whether a link is likely to serve readers.

Keep link building useful

Link building works best when it follows a clear editorial purpose. A guide to game rules, responsible play or the history of bingo could be valuable to a relevant publication if it adds something their readers need. A link placed only to increase a metric, with no context for the reader, is less likely to build lasting value.

Before approaching a site, review its recent coverage and decide what you can contribute. Check that the page you want to link to is genuinely useful and that the proposed anchor text describes it accurately. Keep a record of outreach and published links, then review traffic and engagement over time rather than judging a campaign solely by DA or another authority metric.

Choosing specialist support

Some website owners bring in freelancers for research, writing, design or technical SEO work. A marketplace such as Osdire includes services across areas such as marketing, writing and programming, which can help when a project needs skills beyond the core team. When selecting a freelancer, assess their relevant experience, examples of past work, communication and understanding of your audience, not just the price or a profile headline.

For projects that depend on local expertise or time-zone coordination, freelancer location transparency can also make it easier to find people in a relevant city or country. Location is only one consideration, but knowing it can help clarify working hours, language context or familiarity with a particular market.

Make the metric part of a wider view

A DA score can be a handy starting point when comparing websites, but it is not a shortcut to sound SEO decisions. Use it alongside traffic, content quality, topical relevance and backlink health. For bingo and gaming businesses, the most durable approach is to publish material that helps readers and pursue links that make sense in context. The number can inform your judgement; it should not make the judgement for you.
